Madeira USA's Webinar on The Attributes of Classic Rayon is Available Online and on YouTube

Laconia, NH— In March, Madeira USA offered customers and prospective customers an opportunity to learn all about what this popular general purpose embroidery thread has to offer. Invitations promising an hour of education and entertaining visuals went to thousands, and Madeira hosted a virtual full house. The webinar was recorded and is available for viewing on Madeira’s website and on YouTube.

Madeira’s marketing team  lead attendees through a presentation of the variety of weights of this thread and how they are used; the attributes of the thread, and why it is ideal for certain projects; working with Classic Rayon, and choosing the correct needles; and finally after care, or, how to best launder items that have been embroidered.

In addition, respected industry veterans were on hand to share their experiences of working with this popular embroidery thread. Representing opposite ends of the embroidery industry, Michael Savoia and Rich Medcraft addressed questions and spoke about examples of their own work. Michael Savoia operates his company, Villa Savoia, in Providence, RI. He has been embroidering fabrics for the nation’s top interior designers for over 20 years.  Among his clients are Michael Smith, Thomas Pheasant and The Wiseman Group. His Villa Savoia offers clients stock and custom embroidery designs. While focusing his work on textiles and their embellishment for the high end home furnishings industry, Michael also teaches textile design and embroidery at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Rich Medcraft’s Stitchwise Embroidery Design is located in southern Oregon. In business for over 14 years, Rich specializes in high quality custom digitizing and full service embroidery for companies at both the local and national level. A consultant and lecturer, Rich’s digitizing skills are sought out by high profile accounts. He will discuss some of the challenges he has faced over the years, in building his clientele.
