Do You Believe in Magic? Embroiderers Find it in E-Zee Cut® Appliqué Magic!

Laconia, NH - According to the embroiderers who use it, “magic” is an understatement for what they are able to accomplish with the aid of E-Zee Cut® Appliqué Magic. This 1.2 oz. double-sided adhesive Cut Away backing is intended specifically as an aid in producing outstanding appliqué embroidery. It virtually eliminates the need for spray adhesives and glues.

One side of E-Zee Cut® Appliqué Magic has a heat-activated adhesive that is fused directly to the appliqué fabric with an iron or heat press. The other side has a release paper and pressure sensitive adhesive that is used to adhere the die cut fabric piece to the garment, prior to embroidering. Madeira USA’s Senior Marketing Coordinator & Backing Specialist Nancy Mini explains how to use this helpful product:

“I would start by identifying the two different sides of E-Zee Cut® Appliqué Magic! The heat-activated side has shiny dots that are visible if you look at it from different angles. The pressure sensitive side has a smooth, shiny release paper on it. We offer this product in 25 yard rolls that are about 13” wide. After you cut a piece of it big enough for your appliqué template, lay the fabric you will be using to appliqué down with the wrong side facing up.

“Next, lay the heat sensitive side of E-Zee Cut® Appliqué Magic down on top of the wrong side of appliqué fabric (the release paper will be facing up). The two are then fused together by applying heat. Using your pattern template or pre-made die, trace and cut out the shape to be appliquéd. Remove the release paper and simply place the piece down in the designated, outlined area and apply pressure. At this point, you just need to complete the embroidery of the appliqué design.”
